Sunny Italy... Part Six

“Bored. Boreddd. Boreeeedddddd. Borrrrreeeeeeeeeeddddddddddd-”
“Shut up already!” Michelle snapped, glaring at Lizzy, who was sprawled out in the backseat of the hotwired car.
“But I’m b-”
“If you say bored, I’m locking you out of the car” Lizzy fell silent. For approximately two seconds.
“When is Kallista going to get here?” she asked, admiring the vines she had doodled allover her wrist with a marker.
“I’m not sure, soon I think” barely a second after the words were out of Michelle’s mouth, a black motorcycle pulled into the little back ally. She rolled down the window and waved to Kallista, who immediately parked and pulled off her helmet.
“They all went into that door” Lizzy said, popping her head out of the back window “No one else has gone in and no one has come out.”
“Great, thanks” Kallista muttered hurriedly, jogging towards the door and checking her sword’s scabbard at the same time.
“Right, you two stay here, I’ll be back in a minute” Kallista hurried into the shadows beyond the door.
“Wow, she’s in a rush” Lizzy commented blandly, opening the car door and climbing out.
“Where are you going?” Michelle asked suspiciously as the younger girl stretched a few times.
“I’m just goin’ to get a closer look…” Liz flashed a quick smile and cracked her knuckles
“Sureeeee you are… But Kallista told us to stay here.” Lizzy blinked a few times and cocked her head to the side
“So?” Michelle sighed and face palmed
“I forgot you have a problem with following orders” Liz pointed at her friend
“Damn straight” she said, arching her eyebrows comically and turning for the door.
“Wait” Michelle dug in her pocket and took out the folding knife Liz had handed her “Take this”
“Naw, I don’t need it” Liz smiled cheerfully and waved goodbye, leaving Michelle sitting in the drivers set of the car, knife in hand. She sighed and slumped back in the seat. Liz was going to get herself killed, or worse, bitten. Sighing again, she opened the folding knife and inspected the blade. It was nice and sharp, drawing a thin bead of blood to her fingertip when she touched it lightly. Perfect.

Lizzy crept quietly down the hall, sticking to the shadows at the edges of the hallway. She heard voices and carefully edged forwards, pressing her back to the rough wall and sliding towards the corner. It was a blind corner and she couldn’t see around it, but she could hear every work that was spoken.
“-if you won’t go peacefully I will escort you there forcefully” Kallista’s was saying calmly and then silence for a seconds before the Azeman spoke
“Make me” it said in a nasty, sneering tone. There was the sharp clatter of metal hitting the concrete floor and then a light rustle of cloth as someone moved suddenly. The tension in the air was so think you could cut it with a knife as Liz exhaled slowly and reached behind her, to the small of her back. Her paint-spattered fingers closed slowly around a smooth plastic grip. With another deep breath, she stepped swiftly around the corner and dropped to one knee, pulling the small pistol from the holster at the small of her back and squeezing off one quick shot before ducking back around the corner. The shot hit the ground at the Doona’s feet and it yelped, releasing Kallista instinctively and staggering back a step. Kallista darted forwards the second the pressure of Doona’s grip left her throat, snatching her sword up from the ground and taking a fighting stance facing the Azeman. Bridget recovered from her shock at the unexpected shot and stepped forwards so she was next to Kallista. She reached into her battered leather jacket and pulled her whip from its secret pocket, cracking it once and grinning cruelly. Victor and Eloise also joined the impromptu battle formation, Victor standing at Bridget’s side and Eloise standing at Kallista’s, both sinking into Chinese fighting stances. The Azeman took another look at the warriors and narrowed its eyes. It’s edges started to fray and become less defined, like you were looking at it threw a few feet of water. Kallista darted forwards and thrust squarely into its chest, but the blade passed straight threw, throwing her slightly off balance. Bridget’s whip cracked loudly in the small space, wrapping lightly around Kallista’s narrow waist. With a sharp yank Bridget pulled her friend out of the way as the Azeman’s solid fist came swinging towards her.
“Thanks…” Kallista muttered, regaining her balance and re-assessing their enemy. It seemingly had grown larger, now looming easily eight and a half feet in the small hallway. It’s hands were the size of dinner plates and tipped with needle-like claws and Doona was making no effort to conceal its triangular sharks teeth, which gleamed in sharp contrast to it’s ebony skin.
“What’s going on?” the Don poked his head out of the office door. He had heard the gunshot wanted to see what the matter was. Doona turned its yellow eyes to him, pinning him with the force of its gaze. It looked back to the vampires and Kallista, but the Don stayed were he was, frozen with a expression of fear on his face.
“Don’t look it in the eyes” Eloise muttered softly and Victor snorted
“No duh, Sherlock”
“Shut up before I rip your face off.” Bridget said crossly, not taking her eyes off the Azeman. Doona growled deep in its throat and crouched, slowly coiling its body like a spring, ready to strike. Bridget nodded imperceptibly and Eloise sprang forwards, whipping out her blades of choice, scalpels. At the same time Victor lunged forwards also, swinging his fists towards the Azeman’s stomach as Eloise went for it’s head. Doona moved lightning fast, swatting Eloise out of the air with it’s huge fist as she leaped for it’s head. She crashed into Victor and they both hit the ground hard. Before they could recover, the Azeman kicked them both out of the way. They both hit the wall with bone shattering force and lay still. The Azeman growled triumphantly, turning its yellow eyes to the last people standing, Kallista and Bridget. It hissed, a low, menacing sound in the back of it’s throat, before lunging directly for Bridget.

Oliver Jones

Just a little drawing to see how drawing with pens works. I really like how it came out, so keep a look out for more like it!  I used a really cheap ballpoint pen, in case you were wondering. And also you won't be hearing more about Oliver Jones, so please don't ask ^^

Sunny Italy... Part Five

“Hello” Doona said smugly, pushing the muzzle of the gun slightly into Bridget’s chest. Bridget’s face remained mostly the same, the only indication of her shock being her eyebrows raising slightly. Victor started to take a step forward, but she held out her arm, stopping him.
“Doona, what a surprise…” Bridget wasn’t even being sarcastic
“You aren’t going to get me back to Africa, so don’t even try. I will kill you.”
“Hmm, that’s nice. Now what the hell are you talking about?” Doona cocked its head to the side
“The Italian sanctuary ordered my deportation, but you won’t take me back” the Azeman glared fearsomely at the vampires. Bridget raised her eyebrows
“Need I repeat?” she asked smoothly, “What the hell are you talking about?” the Azeman looked confused
“You aren’t going to take me back?” it asked hopefully
“How can she take you back if she doesn’t know what you’re talking about? Victor asked crossly, frowning while his girlfriend remained cool.
“Wrong people, we’re just here to meet with your boss. It’s a pure coincidence that we happen to be vampires” Bridget pushed the revolver away from her chest and handed Doona the bullets. The African vampires eyes widened as it checked the chambers, every single one was empty. Bridget had removed the bullets from the six shot revolver while they had been talking without anyone, even Victor or Eloise, noticing.
“Come on” Bridget walked off down the hall, smirking softly to herself. The smirk dropped slowly as she sensed something, someone, moving in the thick shadows at the edges of the corridor. She sniffed twice, bringing the stale sent of mold and concrete to her nose, a long with a strange sent that was out of place in this dank and gloomy tunnel. Cherry blossoms. The smirk sprang back into place and quickly became a full blown grin, even if it was a bit sadistic.
“Oh I get it…” she said, continuing to walk toward the exit, Eloise and Victor following, even if they were slightly confused.
“So it’s getting deported, eh? And the Italians sent you to do their dirty work?” Eloise cast a sideways glance at Bridget. She was looking straight ahead and seemed to be talking to someone that wasn’t there.
“I was called in on a favor...”
The Azeman gave a small yep of surprise and spun to look at where the voice was coming from. Emerging from the shadows was a long, gleaming blade, which was held to the Azeman’s throat. The person holding the blade was hidden in the shadows, the only thing showing was their eyes, which gleamed in the sparse light.
“Kallista, long time no see” Bridget said, turning calmly to look at the delicate young woman, vampire eyes easily piercing the shadows to see her clearly.
“Same to you” Kallista smiled brightly, teeth gleaming in the darkness “Eloise, Victor, nice to see you” the vampires nodded politely, slightly startled by the sudden turn of events, and Kallista returned her attention to the Azeman, which was still held at sword point.
“You have killed to many innocent people on Italian soil. The Italian Sanctuary hereby orders you to return to Africa peacefully, and if you won’t go peacefully I will escort you there forcefully” she said blandly, watching Doona’s expressions cartwheel quickly from shock to anger.
“Make me” it sneered, swiping the sword blade away in a lightning fast movement. It clattered to the ground as the Azeman lunged forward and grabbed Kallista’s throat, pulling her in front of it like a human shield. Bridget, who had started forward at the first sign of movement, stopped as the Azeman gripped Kallista in a sleeper hold. If it applied pressure then she would be unconscious in seconds… or it could break her neck. Bridget calmly chewed her lip, sharp teeth drawing blood as she pondered how to beat the Azeman to a bloody pulp without it killing Kallista before she could get to it. She didn’t like fighting enemies like this, she had no idea how fast or strong it was, or what it was capable of. It was completely unknown and therefore this fight could get very, very messy and drag on for a while. That couldn’t happen because the longer a fight went on the better chance there was of the Azeman getting in a lucky hit. Bridget needed a way to end this quickly and with little bloodshed from her or her friends. The answer to Bridget’s thoughts came in the form of a bullet…

Sunny Italy... Part Four

The two American girls sat in the hotwired car, air-conditioning turned all the way up and radio on. Liz had found a sharpie in her pocket and was doodling on her hands as Michelle tried to get in touch with Kallista.
“Kallista’s five minutes away” she said, closing her phone and leaning back into the seat.
“So we have to wait” Liz sighed and rubbed her hands over her face “I hate waiting”

The vampires followed Doona down the concrete hallway, which was lit only by a few bare bulbs. They took the concrete steps down towards the basement level, passing by a few door as they walked. Nothing stirred as the Azeman led them to door at the end of the corridor and held it open for them, bowing its head slightly in an indication to go through. Bridget sighed and rolled her shoulders once before walking boldly into the large room. Eloise and Victor followed, only a step or two behind her as they walking into a room that was designed to impress and leave someone awestruck. The floor were paneled in a deep colored wood that was a sharp contrast to the concrete floor and the walls were papered with a rich red printed paper, accented with gold. Bridget remained unimpressed, face impassive behind a blank mask. The person that could only be the Don stood up from behind his cherry wood desk and opened his arms in greeting.
"Hello! Welcome to my humble abode" he said in Italian, coming around the desk to shake each of there hands in turn. He was in his fifties, with black hair that was starting to go gray at the temples and a funny little mustache above his top lip. The pinstriped three piece suit he was wearing was well cut and looked expensive, but not overly flashy. Bridget didn't like him.
"My name is Vernanso, Don Vernanso, how may I call you?"
"Bridget"
"Victor"
"Eloise" The Don looked a little surprised at the vampire’s cold manner
Not one’s for introductions, I see” he tried a small, friendly smile
Correct. Now, what do you want? We have places to be” Bridget said in flawless Italian
Such a hurry” the Don sighed and shook his head “Young people these days..." Bridget raised her eyebrows. Even Eloise, the youngest of the group, was at least triple this man's age. Young people indeed.
"Well, if you are really as rushed as you act, then I might as well be frank.” He dropped the smiling, cheerful act and glared directly at Bridget
Which one of you killed Francesco?
That would be me.” Eloise spoke up boldly in halting Italian, matching the Don’s gaze
You?” the Don looked incredulously at petite vampire. Eloise was only about 5 feet 3 inches, very thin and had a tendency to wear flowing dresses. She was not the sort of person you would expect to take down a Mafia boss.
Were you aware that he had a wife and child?” the Don asked, coming out from behind the desk to stand before her.
No, please send them my deepest condolences.” Eloise looked at him coolly, her mismatched eyes boring into his.
“Go Eloise…” muttered Victor under his breath, watching his friend hold her own against a very powerful crime boss. Bridget stepped on his foot.
Is that really all you have to say? His child is only four years old.
Are you trying to make me be feel bad? Silly human” Eloise smiled, showing off her pointed incisors. The Don backed up a step, startled
I wasn’t myself, if anything you should be blaming Victor, he didn’t keep the area clear properly.
Is that really the best you can do? Say you weren’t yourself and then try to shift the blame?” the Don recovered from his shock and shook his head in mock sadness.
I quiet literally wasn’t myself. You should know what I’m taking about, you have an Azeman in your employ.”
…A what?” The Don looked very confused and Bridget stepped in.
Eloise, leave him.” The French vampire nodded and fell silent.
“This man is wasting my time” Bridget scowled and turned to leave, the others following. She paused for a second at the door and turned back, digging something out of her pocket. A wad of bills all bound up with an elastic band was tossed onto the Don’s desk.
For the widow and her child. If you even think about touching it then I will kill you.” the threat was delivered in a cool and careless fashion, in a tone that left the Don no doubt that she would actually do it.
“This was a waste of time, that guy is clueless and was just trying to get money” Bridget pushed the door open and walked out, straight into the barrel of a gun.

Sunny Italy... Part Three

Please comment on the pic i did for Kallista! [link] and i can't actually hotwire cars TT.TT

The car drove slowly through the heavy traffic, making their journey of only about a mile last much longer. Eloise pestered Doona with questions that where deflected politely (for the most part) and Bridget stared out the window, bored and tense with anticipation. She didn’t know where they were going, but she knew that a fight was on the horizon, and no matter how hard she tried she was going to run straight into it. She didn’t really mind, she was in the mood for a good, rough, brawl that would leave bruises on her knuckles for weeks.
I don’t think we’re going to get in a fight” Victor said, speaking the German he had learned as a boy
What?” Bridget was shaken out of her violent thoughts.
You were rubbing your knuckles, you only do that when you’re thinking about fighting.” Victor smiled “but lets try to keep this peaceful, ja?” Bridget sighed heavily
Ja…” she cracked her knuckles and scowled. The Azeman parked in an alleyway behind a large hotel, next another car. It got out, gesturing for the European vampires to follow it through a small metal door, which it had unlocked with a key from it’s impressive key ring. Eloise was the last to enter, but she paused for a moment before passing through the gleaming glass and metal doors. She thought she caught the scent of something familiar and turned to scan the street. Nothing struck her as out of place, it was just a vaguely familiar sent. The wind shifted, erasing the sent and Eloise shook her head to clear it, causing her dreadlocks to bounce around wildly, and followed the other vampires into the hotel.

Michelle peeked her head carefully out form behind a parked car, just in time to see Eloise shake her head and disappear into the building.
“All clear” she said to Lizzy, who was flopped by the cars tire, panting. The girls had run all the way from the airport to the hotel, trying to follow the car without being spotted. The only reason that they had managed it was the noonday traffic was so heavy the car had barely gotten over 15mph.
“I think…” panted Lizzy “I’m dead. Do I look dead to you?” Michelle ignored her and studied the building, plotting about how they would get inside. Lizzy rambled on.
“I feel rather dead, but maybe its only heatstroke. It’s so bloody hot out! I miss the north and the cool” Michelle looked over her shoulder at the annoying girl
“Maybe you wouldn’t be so hot if you took off that…jacket…thingy…” she gestured to the oversized flannel shirt that Lizzy was wearing as a jacket. It was at least four sizes too big and so patched and ratty that it looked like might fall apart at any second. She flapped her hand, causing the overlong sleeves that covered her hands to flop around comically.
“I’ll live, are we goin’ in there?” she ginned, ready to go kick some butt
“No” Michelle said firmly “We’re two teenaged girls. Those are full grown men with guns. We’re going to wait for Kallista.”
“Fineeee~” Lizzy rolled her eyes and peeked into the windows of the car they were waiting behind before pulling a knife from her pocket and starting to slash away at the tires.
“Hey! Don’t do that!” Michelle grabbed Liz’s wrist.
“We’re going to have to go in there and whoever is in there is going to want to come out. So I get rid of the escape route.” She said this all rather fast, her words blending together. Liz handed the switchblade to Michelle and went over to the car that the vampires had just exited. She popped open the hood and started tugging wires and prodding at the car battery.
“What are you doing?” Michelle asked cautiously, watching her younger companion rip a few wires out of place and start fiddling with them.
“Lookin’ for the spare key.” She crossed the wires and the engine roared to life.
“Cheers~!” she said happily, slamming the hood shut and grinning like a maniac.
